How La Pausa Coffee Shop Was Born

La Pausa Coffee Shop came to life in the most natural way. It wasn’t originally planned as a coffee shop—it grew from a need expressed by our own customers.

Everything began at The Colmenita Foods & Consulting, our food production facility in Miami, where we craft high-quality products inspired by the traditional flavors of Central America, South America, and other culinary cultures.

Over time, customers, suppliers, delivery drivers, and visitors began asking if they could purchase our freshly made products. Before long, we kept hearing the same question every day:

“Can I buy one to eat here?”

Those simple requests became the beginning of a dream.

We started by offering our signature bread for choripán, which led to our authentic Argentinian-style Choripán, served with traditional or spicy chimichurri.

Soon after, we introduced our Central American bakery selection, including Pan Manjar, Pan de Queso, Corbatas, Pico Suave, and other traditional Nicaraguan breads.

Our menu continued to grow with a wide variety of Honduran bakery favorites, including Semitas, White Polvorón, Red Polvorón, Margarita, Lengua, Semita de Arroz, and Semita de Borde.

We also expanded our offerings with imported Central American dairy products, featuring traditional cheeses along with cheddar and mozzarella.

Inspired by Argentina, we added fresh-baked medialunas, cheese, ham, and pepperoni pizzas, as well as empanadas filled with ham and cheese, beef, hand-cut beef, and chicken.

Later, Venezuelan specialties joined the menu, including cachitos, tequeños, and traditional empanadas.

But we still felt something was missing.

That’s when we created our Italian-inspired coffee bar, serving espresso, Cuban coffee, American coffee, cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, macchiatos, and other handcrafted coffee specialties.

At that moment, we realized we were no longer simply selling food.

We were creating a place where people could gather, relax, and enjoy meaningful moments together.

That’s how our name was born.

La Pausa Coffee Shop represents that special moment in the day when we slow down, enjoy a great cup of coffee, freshly baked bread, and flavors that remind us of home.

Today, La Pausa Coffee Shop is much more than a coffee shop inside a food production facility. It is the place where we proudly showcase the passion, craftsmanship, and quality that define everything we produce at The Colmenita Foods & Consulting.

Every product reflects our commitment to tradition, innovation, and bringing different cultures together through great food.
